ScriptBase started as a transcript API. It grew into something more useful: a catalogue of ready-made scrapers for the platforms people actually pull data from — and every one of them runs on the same backend that has been extracting transcripts reliably for a while now.
Today that catalogue covers transcripts, comments, profiles, search and metadata across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Rumble. Each is a single-purpose Apify actor: paste a URL, get a dataset, pay only for what you pull.
Why single-purpose
There is a temptation to build one giant "scrape anything" actor. We didn't, on purpose. A scraper that does one thing — YouTube comments, LinkedIn profiles — tells you exactly what it returns before you run it, and it either does that one job well or it doesn't. A catalogue of focused tools is easier to trust than a single tool that claims to do everything and explains none of it.
So the actors are split the way the work is split:

One backend, many fronts
Under every actor is the same router. When you ask for a transcript, it tries the platform's own captions first — fast and free — and falls back to a speech model only when there are none. When you ask for comments or a profile, it fans out across multiple independent data sources and takes the first one that answers, so a single provider having a bad day doesn't take the actor down with it.
That shared backend is why a new platform or a new data type shows up across the catalogue instead of as a one-off. The hard part — the extraction, the failover, the edge cases — is written once.
No key, no quota, no code
